Alonso cano was an important painter, sculptor and a Spanish architect.

HIS LIFE
He was born in Granada ( 19th march 1601 ) and was died the 3rd october of 1667.

his father was Miguel cano Pacheco and his mother María Almansa Pacheco. Alonso cano began to paint when he had to help his father in his work. In the work of his father, the people
knew the talent tha had Alonso when he painted. In 1614 he went to Sevilla; there, he studied paint with the same teacher that learned to Velázquez. Them, he studied sculpture with Juan Martinez
Montañez. In 1624 he did his first painting. In 1627 died his first wife and in 1631 he married with Magdalena de Uceda.
In 1638, Alonso went to Madrid, some years later, the king gave him the church preferment of a canon of the Granada Cathedral.

In 1644, his wife was killed and people blamed him. he scape to Valencia and them to Granada.

When he was born, philip III transfer the Spanish's court from Madrid to Valladolid.
In 1645, in Naseby, in the civil war of England, the New Model Army defeat to the supporters of Charles I.

- "museo de bellas artes de Sevilla"

His main works were a mix of Mannerism and the Baroque. In 1629, he did his main work: "El retablo del Altar Mayor de la iglesia de Santa María de Lebríja". His main work in sculpture is the altarpiece of the Lebrija's church.
